joshthevegan: (screamy)

The second offering from Nashville's pop punk heros, Teen Idols, is not a huge departure from the eponymous debut, (the songwriting is still clever, and the harmonies would still make Brian Wilson proud). There is a touch more aggression in the band's delivery (only a touch), and there are a few more angsty songs, but overall, this is simply another fantastic pop-rich punk album from a band that showed nothing but possibilities in 1999. Tracks not to miss include "20 Below" (one of the catchiest break up songs ever written), the title track, and "Her Only One".

Pucker Up! - 8 out of 10

In 2009, Teen Idols got back together and did some touring (with all the members from the lineup featured on Pucker Up! except for bassist and female vocalist Heather (whose absence is almost painful). Here is some footage of the band performing two songs from their debut album ("Let's Make Noise", and "Peanut Butter Girl") and "20 Below" from Pucker Up!.
